Gorgonzola Sauce

This is just about the perfect sauce,  My favorite way to serve it is poured over a great steak or Prime rib.  But it is perfect for so many other things, served with sautéed mushrooms over pasta,  poured over sautéed asparagus.  I suspect that it would be great with chicken and waffles too, adding a savory touch to waffles. … (more…)

Strawberry, Lime and Black Pepper Popsicles

Who doesn’t love popsicles?  No one!  Texture-wise, I love that these popsicles, since they’re made from tender fresh strawberries, don’t get rock hard (the way ones made from juice will) but stay tender and totally nibble-able.  Adapted from the book on Plaetas,   “a whole book of Mexican-style popsicle recipes” and Smitten Kitchen. The addition of cracked pepper adds an… (more…)

Buttermilk Blackberry Crumble Popsicles

For some reason, which escapes me, my family is big on popsicles. I recently deduced that as children my Grandparents always had popsicles in the freezer, from Orange Juice in an Ice-tray with tooth picks in them to the Store-bought Creamsicles.    Recently on a trip to wine country (California) I was visiting my brother and I was telling my sister-in-law… (more…)

Coconut Pinkcherry Frozen Yogurt

OK, folks,  cherries are coming into season, and I look forward to this all year.  This is so easy to make and is probably one of the best things I have made in my Ice Cream Maker.  Guess how you make frozen yogurt? Homemade Snicker’s Bars

Snickers bars are probably one of my favorite candy bars, right up there with Reese’s peanut butter cups, Butter fingers and about a dozen other ones.  Do I have to pick a favorite,  no I don’t think so. Being that these are a homemade version of Snicker’s makes it even better.   Turns out, these taste exactly like a Snickers bar.… (more…)

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos

Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jalapenos You can’t go wrong with Bacon,  Sausage and Cheese, the magic trinity, and then stuff it all into a Jalapeno pepper and you have a great appetizer or snack.  I have seen several recipes that stuff the jalapenos with cream cheese, but they are so much better with sausage.  They can be made ahead of time… (more…)
